Beer'o'clock does not apply to shiftworkers

you wanna a rum after dogwatch, have one.

Why are we both on dogwatch at the same time again?

You get that :D

You are correct, of course.
Later you got to sleep just like any one else who finishes work, has a drink and goes to bed. :D

Yep. Used to do the same myself.

Always followed the same routine as if I was coming off day work. Just shifted in time. EG: home by 0800, stuff around a bit, have a few beers, have dinner. Go to bed (usually about 1200).

Get up 1900/2000, shower, have breakfast. Go to work. About 0200/0300 have lunch.

Nothing wrong with that, back in my 20's when I used to work for a night club in the Cross, it wasnt unusual to be at the Bourbon and Beefsteak eating steak with pepper sauce and washing it down with a few coldies. The people around us were having bacon and eggs, orange juice, dressed up ready to head to work for the day,

The short period I worked delivering bread and newspapers used to see me knock off work at about 7:30 - 8 am. It was not unusual for me to have a rum can or two when I got home.

Sometimes my housemate wouldn't start work until about 11 am and on those days he would have a breakfast can with me .

I usually only drink rum for breakfast on Recovery Day after a B&S Ball:twisted:.

Comes with the shift work territory. Wife used to wonder why I would get home from work at 1:30am and have a drink and watc hTV before going to bed. Now she works late she understands it's just like getting home from work you do the wind down thing.
Problem for me was I would be back at work again by 5am

I'll be knocking off at 0700 and I've got a 6 pack of Johnny walker stubbies in the w/shop fridge waiting:D

usually end up drinking all day and into the night working on cars:eek:

Got a 3" exhaust going on the Rangie first thing (2 things I don't do on cars, tuning, I don't have the software or a dyno and exhausts, cause its a **** job, but I trade hours for the exhaust bloke, put downlights in his house;)) then back home to lift a 3.9 out of a 95 disco to stick a chev in, gotta fix the drivers window on the P38 at some stage to:mad:

I've been workin shift for about 6 years now..... and i do enjoy a good knock off drink now and then, the best beers are had in the shower after workin a hot night, the soap holder can balance a beer perfectly....

Wot ****es me off the most after workin shift is people that don't understand it. People that look at you as if your a lazy coz you slept till 5pm... well 9 til 5 is 8 hours.. and i finish at 8am!! that and if you finish at 1am to 8am you can't go play in the shed... the neighbors dogs bark, but i can't play coz of noise!!

well thats my grumble

have fun, and any time is beer time

Just about to get into bed, overtired and all, what filled the day 6 Johnny walkers and alot of Melbourne, got the exhaust done, repaired the drivers side windo in the P38, it bloody tore the whole assembly open:mad:, pulled out a 3.9 and have spent the last 3 hours trying to extracate a ****ing spigot from the back of the chev crank with no luck:( will machine up a tighter fitting dolly and have another go with the hammer and grease tommorrow, if that dont work, its drill and die grind:angrylock:
