Could be a great purchase - maybe I should consider a Ford Transit diesel in my Disco II. :)

No I'd be going for the V6 diesel/transmission from the WA vehicle!
Surely you could re-build the 07 Defender even if you had to go for some County roof and body panels - plenty of them around with rusty chassis and good panels (not doors though)

I'm curious though -
The other details like vehicle age and mileage suggest it was a brand new one. Maybe their system only had specs for the 03MY Td5 so that's what got put into the ad.
Interesting.

I noted that too but with only 2500 odd km's on the clock it must be new.

Even I could fix that one!

my god thats an easy fix. I have all the bits too (ally doors not steel) and a bonnet on order to be here within the next month or so.
Edit.. doors and bonnet look repairable...... just a roof, guard, screen frame, and upper rear 1/4 pannel.

I predict it will sell for $30k, and end up in 4wd city (AKA 3wj) in sydney with a lot of bog..... and a $50+k ticket.
Pity if only i had a spare $30k i'd have a bid.

Definately a roll, i don't think it went right over though. hopefully the inertia switch shut the engine down before damage.

I'd call that a daily driver, not a write off.
Or maybe the insurance companies are a little dubious about LR after sales support.
:D

Not much other than the engine and running gear worth saving.

Ah - it all becomes clear now, although according to that link it is a petrol V6, not TDV6. I know someone who would love those rims.

As it's coil sprung "S" spec they'll be 17" rims. Still nice to have though, as there's more choice of off-road tyres in 17" at the moment.

Your right Big J, the Pickles description says its a 4.0 petrol, but the badge on the back of the car says "TDV6". Can't image the previous owner would have changed that and not also changed the "S" badge as well, so I reckon it will be a Diesel TDV6.

OK... So the description was wrong. Just looked at the pics and yep, it's a new one.
It looks as though it was stuffed into a concrete gulley or something. It hasn't been rolled over but the scratches are typical of sliding along bitumen or concrete. It also looks as though it was done at a low(ish) speed too.

Interestingly last light before the picture went up the interim description said "diesel" and that was the reason for my original post - a D3 diesel has to be a TDV6 doesn't it?
