I just got a fortnightly newsletter from 4wd Action.
" CALLING ALL LAND ROVERS
Speaking of Land Rovers, this week we’re asking for all the ‘Rover owners out there to show the rest of the country just how tough their fourbies are.
Why not send us an email to customs@4wdaction.com.au with a bit about your Land Rover? Add some photos, and tell us where you’ve taken your pride and how she’s performed. "
Iam sure there would be some great one's here.

I don't remember my passwaord anymore. Stopped going there after the @#$%&@$% modderator during the shed incident. If the mod can get away with being that biased and wrong then management support his views also.
I have not forgiven or forgoten.

Yep the same reason i left the forum. They were going to do a feature on my landy too, but i told them to stick it after some crap the moderators said on the site.

i would say roothy is pretty clever........
if you got paid what he does to say what he says.......im sure you would do it too......i know i would.....
he does it in about 3 or 4 different magazines.......he is good with his tech tips......
as for wanting landies........half their staff drive landies.........and there havent been any landies in their mags for a while........
they need a bit of variety.......
the magazine is a business.......and is controlled by the advertisers.....
the advertisers will only pay if people read the thing.......so if they lose a share of the market......
their sales will drop......so will their income........
so they need all types and makes to keep everyone interested.........
standard business stuff really.......

Why must a 4wd be tough? Never understood that.
Heres a story I prepared earlier
I have taken my pride Isuzu 110 to the shops, she performed greats. Heres a shot of her articulating over the speedbumps at Bunnings.
(Insert pic here)
Then we picked the kids up from school and decided due to time constraints, to do the soccermum run in it instead of the Discovery.
Again she showed excellent articulation over the kerb and an MX5.
(insert pic here)
She performed faultlessly throughout the entire 25km trip, using no oil and only 3 litres of diesel.
What do I win?

The reason for that is they had to be automatics:D
I like the mag and the forum never had any troble with them sure they bag the landies but if you read through some of the posts they bag alot of other stuff too.
Also in the last 3 issues a landy has been in all of them and 2 dvds ago they did the green 130!
And as for saying they want tough 4wd drives then thats crap because in the lastest dvd they have a Paj thats set up for towing:eek:
But as the saying goes if you own a landy you need to have a thick skin and I guess some of you don't

*cough* I remember another rant not too long ago about that DVD - the Hummer was definitely not automatic even though it was one of their criteria....
EDIT: Besides, what happened to the Discovery? Or was that out of their price range?

True very true but I think thats cause hummer did'nt have any auto's
** Thats where it gets confusing and why I wrote a letter to them the criteria said $60000 plus and has to be 4 door family wagon with auto except the jeep which was only $46000. But maybe Land rover did'nt want to give them one after the last one died in the middle of no where**

They came over last week and did a photo-shoot and article on my D3. Spent all day in the mud and then up in the sand-dunes. Seemed polite enough and very helpful. Apparently it'll be in the May edition.
Cheers,

The fact that the heavily critical thread remains open and active over there is a sign that Glenn the editor is willing to take criticism and that is a very good sign that they will improve.
I admire that.
What I can't stand is when moderators bully people into silence.
Or when all these positive spin comments and threads occur with all these 'nicks'.
Surely the addition of Landies will be a great boost! :D

I like the mag and the DVD's and visit the forum at least once a day. There isnt as much LR bagging as one may think. Even with the current issue of the 4WD of the year thread, quite a few have stated...where are the LR's.....and noting that they drive a toyota or nissan. Gee in our club we bag each other at times about where the Classic will go today, will the fender make it up the hill, will the D3 do another tyre etc etc. Generally all in good fun, it is the one eyed monsters who defend to the enth degree, they are the ones who can ruin it for all. Anyhoo have just emailed them a collage of pics of the D3 out at play and a little story...so who know's.

Me too, just arranging the date to meet the photogragher, don't know what they see in mine, but it should be a bit of fun.
Whether it makes the mag or not, is another story.

The latest issue (#117) with the Classic RR buying guide has a nice photo of a familiar looking yellow RR (TJS-70Y) :).
It looks like Old Slippery Rock Rd. Good going Thomas ;).
