1. The bolts that have rusted. (angle grinder can fix)
2. The bolts the angle grinder can't get at. (Dremel to the rescue)
3. The 6 dremel blades that I use on 1 rusty bolt.
4. The rusty bolt that looks easy to remove with angle grinder.
5. The very sore thumb when I find it's not as easy as I thought.
I don't like rusty bolts.
Everything else I can live with - the oil leaks, the money spent, the mystery burning wire, the noise, the smell of EP90, the lack of brakes, the armstrong steering, the heat, the cold, the spiders & did I mention oil leaks????
I like the way people get out of my way now.

Not a lot I dislike about it. The electrics in general could be improved, and better fuel economy would be nice, but most of the faults are simply a result of its being nearly forty years old.
A few built in problems I have fixed, the most obvious one being to replace the generator with an alternator. I have never broken an axle, although i recognise the possibility of doing so.

There actually isn't much in particular that I like about it to be honest. What do I dislike? The power when I bought it, the gearbox, the smell, the way it drives, the suspension, the way the body is held together, the way it drips oil, the electrics, the brakes, the dash, the seats, the doors, the windscreen, the windows, the steering wheel and the steering, the noise the accellerator makes every time it hits the floor, the way the clutch works, the noise that it makes, the way it vibrates, the way nothing seals, the headlights... or any other light, the handbrake, the carby leaking dry when parked for a few days.....
I'm not sure why I like it to be honest, because I can't logically explain it.
It's probably because I built it.

G'day All, Those of us who are fortunate enough to have 7 or more Land Rovers on the road, what irks me is that I can only drive them 1 at a time:o:mad::p cheers Dennis:wasntme::angel:

You would have to questions why we have them with the amount of dislikes associated with these machines.
1. Fuel eccomomy
2. Noise
3. lack of highway speed
4. Leak when it rains
5. oil leaks
6. Handling on the road
7. Cab heats up from heat from engine
8. Lack of available parts of the shelf of local auto shops
9. Electrical
And the list goes on .........but they are 40 years old..........and we love it
Wayne
PS the scary parts is - Land Rover havent learnt from the mistakes

Does this apply to the S1, my only gripe is the windscreen wipers they are woeful, hang on I should say windscreen wiper, only got one. The issue with spare parts is less with a Holden Motor, but you can keep a stock of the basics in your own garage in case of failure, just matters on where you stop with spare collecting, coz landys are like that you know! where do you stop, where is the line between happy Landrovering and divorce?

Bingo - and I have recently parted with most of my 'spare' stuff to keep the other half happy. She is so keen for a garage sale at the moment and is eyeing off all things in my 'blokes land' Aparently I have heaps of stuff that can still go :o:o:o My god.. I am down to tools only at the moment.

Ahh Basil, my series II....there is nothing to dislike!! :)
The resto has started, he's stripped. ready for priming. He leaks, but that happens when you drive in the rain with no roof! I have only one wiper (driver's side). The missus love him, the kids love him, I love him!! :) He has 2 bullet holes in him and he is noisy, leaks a little oil, has spiders but I wouldn't swap him for anything..:)
