When we were cleaning up my son's house I came across this in a box - never used:

https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2012/07/873.jpg

See ASUSTeK Computer Inc. (http://www.asus.com.au/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=11&l3=572&l4=0&model=1850&modelmenu=1)

The flamin' thing appears to be liquid cooled!

It seems a bit of overkill for my surfing the 'net and word processing. I don't play games.

I don't know what you can do with it, but I suspect it represents some sort of threat to civilisation as we know it.

My 10 yr old computer almost suffered an apoplexy trying to download the page of information about the thing. It was several minutes before I could calm it down and get back to responding to your question.

Perhaps the designers of the web page in your link think that anyone looking at the page already has one fitted.

Whatever you do don't touch it with your bare hands or without proper protective clothing.

This is Ron pretending not to be a nerd, he knows what it is.... its a Moduflopper for the reflux disector on his gigamunch programmer

Ron, what ever you do, Dont turn it upside town and turn it in an anticlockwise direction while being in transit over the equator.... if you do it will start the Cyberdyne network up and you know the Rest dont you John Conner.................

And I thought you were joking when you said that it appears to be liquid cooled.

That thing is scary - I wonder if you could use it as an ECU in a Disco.

It looks like a 3d map of a toxic waste plant! Maybe with working toxic waste.

In the immortal words of my father, "It's a wing-wong for a goose's bridle." Yeah, i know - great help.

I've now also got his old PC which is already MUCH faster than what I'm typing on - it also has terabytes of disk space. Dunno where I'll fit his dual 20" flat screen monitors.

Pedro..... That is one sick mobo!! I am an overclocker as well so.. YUM!

My rig's about 4 years old now & its seriously time to get a new one. I am also on overclockers as RaZ (If you go there ;) )

That is seriously cool! I am going to read up on it, wouldn't mind seeing what the memory through put / bandwidth is on these new ones :) need to read up on these new CPU's as well. At work I am used to dealing with 4/8 way servers, Xeon & not, but haven't yet messed with the new gen of hardare including the pci express gear :)

Are you using this mobo? what cpu would you throw in it? Whats it got on board? lol (Yeah I am going to read but now I am just on auto type so I am going to go post else where now lol )

I am told that merry widows and middle aged divorcees posses items like this but I would have to go to the mud pit to tell you what they are alleged to use them for.

This is no joke I use glycol in my water cooled PC. But this mobo is a heat pipe setup no need to add water there. But the solid state caps with give that mobo long life, keep it.
