Trust I can get some good advice from you all in regard to a 1995 HSE RR with 95,000km.
I tend to think it's sitting a little low and realise the airbag suspension is close to its lifespan in any case.
As I'm not keen on selling a kidney etc I'm looking for recommended mechanics in Sydney or Brisbane who can do this using Airbag Man or similiar parts.
I assume from reading the pump will need replacing or rebuilding and would also think the Airbag Man emergency air recovery system is worthwhile?
Any help would be apprecaited.
Regards,

Colin

I would take it a step at a time

Replace the air bags if they are slowly sinking down on yellow warning light is on the dash, l replaced the air bags in 1993 range rover when l bought it in 2005, since then l replaced the two front sensors and thats all in terms of the air suspension and this year replaced the shock absorbers.

The landrover bags were quoted at $750 apiece got the air man bags which are made by dunlop for $220 apiece which was still cheaper than reverting to coil suspension.

Retail price from a LR dealer is around $200 for each airbag on the LP (P38a) Range Rover.

CJ, is it sitting low when parked (switched off) or in general driving ?
While the airbags can leak over time they're not generally a cause of a low ride when the car is driving, unless you have a major leak somewhere.
Maybe the system just needs calibrating.

Are you in Sydney ?
If so, give ATV, Coopers or Bruce Davis a call.

For the emergency kit, try Lee Bourgeios with his Rovair system.

Thanks for the help..
No warning light but it's definately sitting lower at rest than I remember!
I'm in country NSW and get to Brisbane and Sydney every month or so - either would be OK and I prefer a specialist to do anything a bit outside the ordinary.
Scott have you got contacts on ATV, Coopers and Davies?
Thanks again,
Col

Have you thought about replacing the air suspension altogether? There are kits available to put the P38 on to coil springs. They come with a plug in module so that the EAS/ECU doesn't think there's a problem.

Here's a link: One type of kit (http://www.brookwell.co.uk/acatalog/RangeRoverP38coilspringconversionkit2.html)

And a couple of others:

Complete Tutorial with pics (http://www.rangerovers.net/repairdetails/airsuspension/airspreplace.html#p38)

If you want to keep air suspension, then check out these upgraded units rather than the Dunlop ones:

Apart from sitting lower than usual, are there any problems with the EAS ?
Slow to lift ?
Dropping overnight ?

hehe hey guys

i've just looked at a 96 range rover and after starting the engine the suspension light stayed on and on the mode panel all 4 lights were on..

when i pushed the up/down button nothing happened.. is this a common problem? what causes it?

the whole time the suspension was up high.. i assume it was anyway cause it didnt feel low and it was nice and soft, the ride that is..

the whole time the suspension was up high.. i assume it was anyway cause it didnt feel low and it was nice and soft, the ride that is..This has logged a hard fault & it will need to be diagnosed using test equipment (Testbook, Rovacom.....).

In theory, it should stay high unless there a leak or it self levels down to the stops. Be prepared & get yourself a kidney belt ;).
