What power steering pump do I have?

I have discovered that there is several milimetres play in the bearing on my power steering pump, it is still working but i don't know for how long. Thing is I can't work out what pump it is. The vehicle is a 84 120" with an isuzu. The pump is belt driven so i always thought it was off the V8 but i found a 84 range rover at the wreckers and the pump was completely different. I will get a picture of mine later but thought i would post this now in case someone knew of the top to their head. I would just like to know what to ask for when looking for another one.

Here is the pump. Perhaps could someone with a V8 county tell me if it is the same as yours? You will see i am using the loose belt technique to try and minimise the load on it till i get another one.

If the pump is at the end of its life ditch it and get a gear driven one. It bolts into the front of the 4bd1. If your motor is like most it will have a place in the timing gear cover to fit one. Some early 4bd1's don't have a place to fit one. If it doesn't I have a spare timing gear cover.

I bought a power steer pump from a wrecker for $150. The army 110's were originally manual steering. I converted mine to power steer with a 4 bolt steering box.

So the cover should be on the drivers side between the injector pump gear and the crankshaft? I had thought about some other pump but would have to get new hoses to fit it up.
A truck wreckers would be the best place to ask about the pump?

that would be it.

here is a pic of the timing cover and the blanking plate. The three bolt blanking plate in the photo should be fitted to your motor instead of the pump. In some early motors timing cover does not have a removable blanking plate. The blanking plate is facing the wrong way in the photo but you should get the idea.

I would try truck wreckers first for a pump.

Mate i could probably dig up a pump, lines and resevoir etc I made up years ago out of truck bits. it had a slight weep on the home made inlet at the pump from memory. $150 + freight would see you set up. ( genuine Isuzu pump)

It may be easier to pick up an isuzu power steering pump from a truck wrecker. I purchased one a couple of weeks ago and it cost $400 along with a edic switch. I to was considering attaching a pump off a 3500 V8. but its not worth the hassel.
