engine breather fumes

I am in the process of rebuilding a 1957 88" landy, the engine runs smooth and quiet, but the only problem is ,when eng gets warm ,at about 2500 RPM exessive smoke vapours come from ENG breather, can anyone give me idea what would cause this. thanks LOZZA.

Has the engine been reconditioned? it may not have bedded in yet. Also, when an engine is not under load, they can blowby more than when under load because the pressures that force the rings against the cyl wall aren't there.

See above suggestions, but the engine breathers on these engines will always emit more fumes than modern drivers are used to. Make sure that the wire wool is present in the breather - this will trap some of the oil droplets, so more may get out if it is missing.
