As you've probably noticed i'm up in the air about what to do with cars at the moment, I was looking at an XR8 ute last week. The disco is coming up for replacement for a few reasons.
- She can't drive it comfortably (manual, heavy clutch) can fix for a few dollars with a booster, but she would still be too close to the wheel. (it' great if your designated driver doesn't whinge about the car coming home from the party)
- PIA to drive around town.
- Won't fit in the garage
- Can't put ladders on the roof (too high)
- Fuel pump/Injectors i suspect are coming
- Needs New Suspension
- Cracked body mounts
- Cambelt
- Front diff seal
- Plus more

I need a car that will comfortably get me to falls creek and down the occasional rough track. I also need to be able to put a ladder on the roof and get into a car park for occasional work use ( was thinking the EAS would be good for this).

Now i've read Dirt Dodger's thread last year and was thinking about a P38 on inj gas. I'm reasonably electronically minded and confident with electronics. What was the outcome, did he buy it? What other suggestions do you have?

The silence has been deafening, or are P38's that bad no one wants to talk about them.

Range rov in mitcham have a 2001 HSE 4.6, 163000kms for 29990 with a 5 year warranty.

Has anyone brought off them before? whats there warranty like?

Any help would be appreciated

Thats not bad money for a 2001

Personally I wouldn't get one.. too many probs

My father has a 97 model .. done everything to it..new engine (sleeve prob) diffs. airbags..pretty much anything that can go wrong with a P38 he had it!
Offered it to me for nothing the other week.. I turned it down.. why own a car that costs so much to upkeep. My classic cost nothing compared to his P38

my 2 cents
