G,day, Today for the first time i noticed the green oil pressure light come on for half a second a few times. It seemd to be after 20 min of driving when things were hot. The oil pressure gauge reads full pressure but the green light was comming on.
I checked the oil temp and it was around 78-80 degC. Is this normal?.
Does the oil pressure light indicate a blockage someware.
I have not driven it for about 4 weeks so maybe something has seized or blocked.
Any help would be great.
I have a series 3 2.25 diesle.

If you have a gauge as well as a light, and the gauge continues to indicate normal pressure, the problem is probably with the warning light.
It will be either a short on the wire to the pressure switch, or, as I had last time it happened to me, a faulty pressure switch.

I would believe the oil pressure guage, oil pressure will drop off as temperature rises, but not much, but it should not drop to near Zero, if under load, uphill if the oil pressure drops to near zero and then comes back up after load or hill has passed, you may have a problem, as long as it is reasonably steady without large fluctuations you will be right, Regards Frank.
