So what bent the steering wheel? Hope it wasn't the driver!

The driver "survived" - I put the pathfinder pp up a few months ago.
Good thing that Javelins are not used against our boys.

For those of you who are interested:
The MRAP is a US customed version of the very reliable Nyala from South Africa. They are made under licence from Ruemech (Sth Africa) in the US by International Military and Government LLC.
These vehicles grew out the development of vehicles, starting in Rhodesia, to counter the land-mine threat in Southern Africa. Derivatives included the Wolf, Buffel, Mamba which were personnel carriers but the Saffers also developed many support vehicles, including recovery vehicles....all very capable. I witnessed landmine clearance being conducted in Mozambique in 2000 by a commercial contractor using Wolfs fitted with steel wheels, to deliberatley detonate mines.
The Nyala was a competitor against the Bushmaster but, it was up against a hiding as the success of the Bushmaster was all tie up in the subsequent sale of ADI. In my opinion, we would have greater combat survivability in the South African cars. The Nyala's will take a triple-stacked TMN-72 Anti-Tank mine under any wheel, and the occupants will survive; the Bushmaster will not take the same.
The monocoque hull and wider set wheels of the Nyala, in comparison to the under vehicle wheels of the Bushmaster, sets up the difference.
Good drills is what saves the occupants in a MRAP. What will kill a person inside the vehicle is what will fly. The seats are all contoured to reduce injury and all objects inside the car need to be stowed. and this includes weapons. A flying rifle will kill you or your mate.
The company I am currently employed with (DynCorp) won the contract to support the MRAP in the US and wherever they are deployed:
