Where is the build date located on the new Defenders?
Thanks

Can't comment on the new ones, but my '03 Defender had this info on some green & orange stickers around door pillars etc. One was a "passed QC" sticker - you'd think that would get removed!
From memory mine was completed by the day shift, 30/6/03.

As Tusker said, there are some QC stickers - I found mine under the seats in the new Defender - mine was built on the 18th July 2007.
There is also a plate on the firewall that has year build - but not actual date.

Thanks for your response. On the 2008, it's not on the door. It's also not on the vin id plate under the bonnet.
Thanks

I think you'll find that the stickers on the seats only indicate when the seat was made - mine actually has Lear - Nottingham on it which is where they come from. In any case, with Land Rover's "just in time" manufacturing process, that should be within a month of final assembly I would have thought.
I can't find any overall assembly date on mine. I guess you just have to go by the VIN number and Land Rover keep all the specific details on their database.

I found a few others on various other areas of the vehicle (including chassis) - all 18th July 2007.

Well my seats have different QC dates on them. 20th Sept and 21st Sept. The seat frame is 19th Sept. Since you took delivery of your Defender in October, I am guessing it was assembled in August. It is conceivable that all the QC sticker dates on yours might coincidentally be the same date in July. A long shot I know but I can't see why they would put final assembly date stickers all over the place and not just in one key location.
I got mine in December so I guess it was assembled in October which makes sense since all the QC component dates I can find are in late September.
