About 650k per tank in a TD5 Defender (before I panic).
When not towing anything or driving flat out, I average 10.2km/100L mixed driving.
With my camping trailer 12.5k/100L
With trailer and roofrack 13.5k/100L.
Damn that Lara Croft roofrack - it costs so much in fuel I don't use it any more.

200tdi Disco the best round town (fuel light on) 650k's gets 550ish at 3/4 but it seems to drive better when full of fuel

Impressive. So far 675k's with three quarters of a tankful gone. I'll let you know km's/110 mpg when I fill her up. Last Disco was a V* so I'm super impressed. Used to do 20ltrs/100k :(

In my 300TDi Defender I can get anywhere from 600-750k's out of a tank, depending on mix of freeway vs round town and whether any offroad is involved. It probably dropped a little when I had the pump and boost played with, but not enough to go back to how it was! ;)

Both fenders approx 10.5-11ltrs/100kms around town.
130 300tdi is usually empty
110 TD5 has baby stuff and wife is a bit of a lead foot
Tyres at 55psi
Air con on most days
No roof racks on 110 anymore (they whistle and you can notice a difference with them off)

between 700 and 850 around town, have gotten just over 1000 on the highway at 110km/h heading to the Territory
300tdi Disco with a half rack.
(Just filled up this morning with 747 kms and it was on the bottom E line. Have noticed I get consistent consumption if only filling up at BP, using woolies and others can vary consumption by around 100kms

Handles just fine, have got over 110,000kms out of set of General Grabbers. I like a firm ride:lol2:. I have listened to quite a few people over the years saying dont go over 40 or dont go under 60, some were old cockys who drive on dirt tracks some on the sand. I have only had 2 punctures in this time and both where repaired and the tyres are still in use. I understand that some people prefer a smooth ride but if I wanted a soft ride I would buy a Falcon.:eek:.
Hope I dont sound blunt, and I dont wont to start a fight but I just feel it is a matter of preference and fuel economy:D:D:ehand:

how much weight you usually have in the truck?
you looked to see if you have any chassis cracks round the cross members or rear of the front arch?
last one i saw that ran those sorts of pressures was full of cracks...
be nice to run that for economy etc but my spine would be powder in a month...

Wow!! I get about 385k's out of a tank in my D90 TD5:eek:
Best ever I have had is 26mpg. normally get about 22mpg
that works out at 11.1l/100k's and 12.9l/100k's (I think!)
Doesnt seem too bad...

I can't beleive no one picked this up... This is one thirsty TD5, i don't think you would even make it between servos unless you had aux tanks or afew 20L jerrys. :D

Me too, about 22-23mpg normally, best up to 27mpg.
Except that mine is a 39 year old petrol...

Wow 385k's is nothing.
i average around 530k's in my td5 D90 and i thought that was bad.
i have big micky thompsons and i dont have the lightest of foot.
i have no roof racks yet tho.
How much do roof racks influence fuel economy? would just the normal rino racks have much of an influence on it???
Cheers

I know we have had this discussion before, but here goes anyway.
I am genuinely interested in some of the information here, but it means nothing to me.
People are telling me how many kilometres they get out of a tank, but that doesn't tell me much.
I don't know how big their tank is.
I know I could do some research and find out what size tank is fitted to different model LRs, but there would still be a problem.
I don't know how many litres are left in their tank when the gauge shows empty and/or they decide it's time to fill up.

Mine holds 60 litres but the figures are done brim to brim so should be 100% accurate

Well I have just learnt something today. (I hope I learn something most days.)
I had just assumed your tank was about 75 litres like mine.
So you're doing a bit better than I thought. That is close to what my 300Tdi gives on a good day.

Mine is certainly out by about that much and the speedo by even more; about 110 indicated for a genuine 100kmh.

I know what you mean, when people tell me how many $$$ to fill their car I don't even bother to finish the conversation anymore...

ahh.. that would make quite a difference!! lol. I have also allowed for my larger tyres. I know it under reads by 10% according to my old gps.

Duuh!:clap2: Serves me right for typing while eating my lunch. You can't get anything wrong on this site. You win, how about:

1230km is when I look to fill the Defender.
OK I have long range tanks:angel:.
I average 11.5 liters per 100km. I leave heaps of gear in the rig so it weighs lots. I also have roof bars and often roof lights.
I also used to run my tires at 50psi. Now I go from 40-50psi.
