Since someone high up on the forum pointed out you love a stir and causing trouble i'm finding more often that this is the case.....

I'm unsure on colour on the County Yet....
its white, but i'm thinking going the whole hog and making it a millitary replica
OR Camel Trophy replica....
OR turn it into a Madmax mobile??

We also buried a loved one (our son) last week.
However, that's not how I took Clarkie's post. I assumed from the topic title that he was referring to his dog (we buried ours last year and he was a loved one, too).
I wasn't offended by the post and I think you fellas have gone a bit overboard on this thread.

Thank you
Lighter note to all the others
Now one might appologise for the original thread if it sent you on a wild goose chase, But one wont, as if you had of read the thread and read it like most do without bringing feeling or your own loss in then, there would not be an issue and argument. I feel for those who have lost loved ones. But i also can control my anger enough not to pop when i see a thread that can be taken in differnet way.
To be honest. Since i got banned i have taken a different veiw on the Forum... Its changing from what it was..... it used to be kind and respectful, but now its just one step of being a "overlander" or "4wdmonthly"
We need to stop the arguments and carrry on.
There is a time and a place for the mud fights.. and yes every so often a thread pops up and someone has a neg view or a belief that the other person is wrong. Express yourself, but there is no need to fire up and keep going at it.
Do a search on certain members and see how many of the comments they make are a Negative towards the previous post. Some are quite high.
Some say the Vic guys are bullies..... Well some of us had issues and its been sorted.... Quick phone call and an appologie from my end sorted it. So guys.. Do as Jesus did and Forgive, Drink and get nailed......

G'day all,
After reading previous threads about Clarkie selling his beloved Landy , I pretty much new what the content of what this thread was going to be before I opened it.
I don't see topics labeled like this one as a problem or being in bad taste, everyone has different issues in their life at different times, read and accept post's the way they are meant to be read and don't take them as a personal attack on what may be going on in your own life.
I rarely put up many posts but I usualy check and read posts on a daily basis. Recently there has been a lot of negative replies to posts. Is it the weather at the moment, people spending too much time inside or just the way society is going.
Down here in tas we try to not worry about too much, we are all smiling and happy, because our weather has been better than up north this year :lol2: :tease:! (about the only year I can say this).
Be happy and keep smiling.
Cheers Andy :twobeers:

It's tragic when anyone loses a loved one, and you have our sympathies of course, but please don't let your grief spill over into negativeness towards a harmless post as this benefits no-one, least of all yourself.

When I first joined this forum it was a breath of fresh air from the likes of other 'all makes' forums I had been using. Everyone seemed to get along great and it was if moderators were not even required. Possibly even one of the reasons I bought a Land Rover in the first place (as I didn't have one when I joined. Was just looking into them).
I hope it can get back to that soon. I honestly miss it.
I just cannot comprehend the way some people carry on here and other internet forums. People wouldn't treat each other like that in real life so why do it when you think you have anonymity behind your computer?

If you were sitting around the campfire and the conversation turned to something that didn't interest you either because you knew about it already or you just plain didn't like it then would you abuse everyone? I hope not. I'd hope you would just sit patiently for your turn or move to another group.
As I asked before, why is it any different on the internet?

yes...two of the reasons I hardly ever refer to the Exploroz forum any more and instead focus on this one are:
. the lack of intelligent, informed posts on the former...yes, I don't want to blow sunshine up your exhausts, but you guys are relatively intelligent and informed (and not just about LRs)...
. the large number of self-opinionated plonkers on Exploroz who are only too happy to start a fight over very minor things...let's avoid this happening on this forum!

Righto, yes as has been pointed out, anyone has a right to say what they want. Yes, I had the screamers over Wannalandys response because if he wants to get fired up, get fired up over the fact that some people, whether their right or not, jump into a thread, post something that has nothing to do with the thread...and 9/10 times it is negative. Get fired up over that as opposed to someone pointing out that rudeness. No, Im not the police, but I do enjoy reading peoples posts and it is bloody infuriating when people like to have a whinge for whinges sakes, and being a pig headed, stubborn, tell it like it is person...I will say so. Just as I have when I see sometimes it looks like people maybe bullying, I will say something.
To answer Xavie, their wasn't any negating, I actually found the response hilarious as what he was trying to berate me for, he was guilty of the same thing.
Forget its a forum and take it into "real life"...if I am having a chat with mates and someone wanders over and starts slamming the conversation we are having, I would give them both barrels. Yeah for sure, I can't tell them they have no right, but it is downright rude all the same. Its called etiquette, even in the recent posting on internet etiquette is on the whole stick with the theme. I guess seeing that was the straw that broke the camels back for me. In this case Clarky has posted something about his car going and 3 posts in....SLAM......had nothing whatsoever to do with the thread. Maybe I am alone in this thought,

In terms of commiserating, I can fully understand with my D3 going on Tuesday :( to its new owner, and I can tell you, it may only be a car but am gutted all the same as it was my first 4WD, First Landy, first time going off road and camping with the kids, so its not just a hunk of metal, but an adventure along with getting me from A-B. The upside is it won't be my last D3 :D, but in the interim a late model 03/04 D2, TD5 will take its place to be built into an off road beasty,

It's all you women ever think of. At least when you bang up a Landy you can fix it in your spare time.

That was taking it a bit too far!
Dear lord .... I was joking when I posted that.
Lucky steve was sitting right beside me when I posted that & was laughing when I was replying
Get a grip...
Anyway , It was a sad day to see Grommie leave the driveway :( even I was sad to see it go. Whoever brought it got a fantastic defender & I hope that he puts it to good use as steve did I think Jamo was kidding, like all else was fine but a new lounge...well that was taking it too far:). That was how I read it anyway...not that the whole lot was taking it too far....have I made sense??

No, Ron's too much of a gentleman. Someone must have hijacked his account. ;)
Yes, Ron must have assumed the wording was incorrect there.
He would have assumed it meant to say "knock me up or buy me a new lounge suite"
perfectly understandable, under the circumstances. And jolly good of you to volunteer to make them a lounge suite Ron !

What's wrong with a woman in a lounge suit?

And how are you going to get the missus to lend you the County for a bit of fun?

I guess you have all learned a lesson about, "the way words are written" and how they can be "perceived by others?"
Not everyone is on the same wave length, so messages can be read in different meanings!
Half the problems in this forum arise from individuals posting what they think is a cool heading, but not looking at what consequences can arise from other members thoughts on the same heading.
And no, I'm NOT stirring, I'm simply pointing out a fact in a thread, that I had NO input in, but did confuse others.
Some may have said things as a joke, that was not "picked up" by others.
I also have a bad habit of NOT explaining my "written" thoughts, thoroughly, which can be seen in a different aspect by others.
I hope these comments are understood and not taken as a direct insult, or as a disruptive comment. That was not on my agenda.

Ron

Interesting.....
Since someone high up on the forum pointed out you love a stir and causing trouble i'm finding more often that this is the case.....
You obviously dont know my sence of humor and the "Lost a loved one" was tongue in cheek....
I will miss it and it is only a car..... Lighten up.... i'm guessing there is a dark cloud over head....
you don't need to explain anything to us sane people clarkie, we understand how important the relationship between a man and his landy is.
even my wife wont let me sell LRYOOT.
best let sleeping dogs lie, get over the loss of Grommet and move on. you'll be a better man for it.:D

All AULRO member reading this thread, remember this section of the forum is, and I quote..
"General Chat Almost anything goes, have a look and drop in a few lines. Think of it as a campfire chat".
This is exactly what's happening, and a good laugh I'm having reading it :D:D. Bring in the emotion, subtle jibes and heated debate. Try to remain somewhat respectful though. If I want to learn something I go to the technical section, not this one.
I too was originally missled by the original title in light of the recent sadness to some members, but took no offence, read the thread and boy am I ****ing myself watching you all apologise to each other. :)

It has always amazed me how someone can find emotion in text, if you delibrately word something to abuse, then that is different (ie) calling someone a knob.
Having an opinion is not an excuse to abuse someone because you don't agree with that opinion.
Put your point of view across on what you believe is correct, but don't abuse, please, it doesn't make you right, it just makes you abusive.
Baz.

I think you need to have a look at what you 1st posted in this thread.
None of us have learnt from this "Heading" as you call it.
There is nothing wrong with it, its only the people that have issues with others that need to fire up.
Not one other has complained about the title. Once again you try to push your beliefs onto others.
Take a step back and breath, then look at what you post.
If it is going to be taken as a Negative or an attack, then dont post it.
This is the only post that the heading is not as you might think. You cant use this as a firing point, as you have fired on many a normal post.
Not everyone see's eye to eye. But if you think before you post, then you wont get infractions or banned....
Ohhhhh How do i know that????????????
I'm No1 on the Mods hit list..... i have more infractions and warnings than than Ben Cousins.
