I guess I would also like to know if members should be asked about making these changes. Or if they are posted somewhere?

Perhaps we could have a section on site changes?

hmmmmm

there is such a thread already, under admin news. i put notices in there when i see the need.

i am investigating a system load issue and i do what i need to do to get to the bottom of the problem, some things are coming and going as i step thru them...

I was just getting the hang of it as well :D

On a more serious note, I had a phone call the other night, private number, the caller says, "Is that Ron, I said "Yes", he said, "I've been watching your posts on your internet forum", then he hung up.

I can only guess it was this forum and from the one thread I did not get to delete a post I made. I guess that is how he found my name and subsequently phone number.

As I offer a "Public Service" to the community, I cannot have an unlisted phone number. It's a pity my name was not Smith :D

True story Dave,

It did happen!
It was quite a shock.
The post I need to delete is in the Forum Nicknames thread.
I was silly enough to put info in that completes my surname :(

Cheers,
Ron

G`day again Pedro ,

If the reason for it`s absence is because of misuse by whoever in whatever way .... as suggested elsewhere ?

Could you ask the Boss if it`s possible to be only in the Tech section .

My reason is that the section should be as correct as possible and a wrong or omitted word can change the whole reading of a thread and things are often hard enough to get across when all the words fit .

To me it seems silly to have to use a new thread to right wrong wording and this also disjoints the subject which inturn makes it harder to understand and the fact that different people get a different spin from the same wording , i feel makes it awkward enough . I don`t mean spelling , this is minor and doesn`t alter much .

Thanks muchly .

It has currenty to do with excess load on the servers... Incisor is turning functions on and off to track down the problem ;)

Same reason the Thanks button disappeared for a few days :)

Excess load on server??? Check to see some old Russians aren't hacking the site and doing what they did to my sit e- dump 350mB of po$no%ra**y on it ..... I had to do a search today and then ask my hosting company to clean it up. Something about sneaking in through a vulnerability in my software. (joomla).

not an amateur show mate....

popularity is the problem...... catch22

12 months ago aulro was pumping out 20gig of data a month, it does that in under 5 days now..

i imagine my next bandwidth bill will be double what it was.

will be disabling the gallery for a day or two to see what affect that has shortly...

you need to modify something you let a mod know the changes and post etc and they will do the correction, for the moment.
