D1 gearbox help

Hi all,
wondering if anyone can help me with a problem. While accelerating from a standstill this afternoon in drive (auto box) my gear box made a clunk and now the only gear that works is reverse:(. I have a funny feeling that the bands may have broken, but this is my first auto so its all a little new to me.

The important bit is from Scouse that ZF have a trade outlet in Arndell Park Sydney, and apparently offer a changeover service .

sounds like you have broken your sprag clutch, try driving it like a manual I.E. put it in first change to second etc. Hopefully you will still be able to drive it just not in auto.

Langy I read the article.
Blythe I dont have any forward gears unfortunately so I cant even manual change. The only way to move the vehicle is in reverse so it definately is not a transfer case problem. Looks like i will be takeing parts of the gearbox apart over easter..
