Just an official thanks to Dave who spent last night on my drive going over the beast. After he heard about the oil leak and the suspisions that it might be the rear main seal he decided that they could pull the engine in 3 hours and check. Luckily we didn't have to pull to much to confirm that it was what I was praying. New sump gasket and the leak is sorted. Pity that my oil change ended up being in the car for 2 days and what wasn't spilt got enough bugs in it to not be worth saving.
A bit more work tomorrow and it might even make the trip!

I agree Dave is a great bloke to have around if you need any Mechanical help. I have seen him do some very imaginative fixes on a trip, to keep the convoy moving.
