I remember sleeping in a trailer with a tent on top when I was a kid. Just an old canvas ridge tent with a simple frame (ridge pole and uprights) and tie anchors around the outside.
Worked Good!

That's what mum and dad used to have too, then they converted it to a fold out type about 25 years ago. Mum sowed the whole thing herself on a treadle type singer sowing machine!:) The camper's still in use and as good as ever.;)

I had a look at one at the camping show.$2700 complete.
Wouldnt bother!!!
Too far between the roof supports water will pool for sure. The Canvas is nothing like the stuff on the ossie made tops!!!!Didnt feel/look the same, the sun was shining thru the roof!!!! Sewing wasnt that flash either.
Better paying for a good one.$4000 to $5000 seemed to be the norm.
Will say it had alot more space than the "locals"

You will have a lot of difficulty fitting a camper top to that trailer. The floor would be at least a foot off the ground.
See: http://www.hirecampertrailer.com/images11/Up_campr_trailer_down_camper%20trailer.jpg

(Note the distance between the top of the trailer and the bottom of the floor of the tent)

I used to sell them :D

Most camper tops for trailer come in a standard drop, On road and Off road.
You can get one specially made, but it would cost $$$$

Thanks Ron Mc, Remember the wire cage/sides are comming off...The top of the trailer (where the Bed base will be) is exactly 100cm off the ground. The photo you included is just the result I'm after.:D

As Ron said watch the nominal height.

I just bought one of these and took it away at easter.

eBay My World - ezpower2007 (http://myworld.ebay.com.au/ezpower2007/)

It rained every day:mad: but we didn't get a leak. Heavy canvas, good construction, dark walls for mud splash and general grime. And it came with a ladder for the little people:D(swmbo).

Hi
Just spent last week looking in to ebay tents. I emailed a heap of guys who brought from ebay from positive feed section. A few reply and not so positive know.
last guy put it up it rained and had a few small leaks but the roof ponded and it bent the poles not happy.
I rang a few camper trailer company about tents and was put on to a guy who makes the tents at home, so off on Saturday to check him out, will let you know.

This is exactly what I was refering to in the other post.
They have their supports too far apart for the pitch of the roof.
Buying extra spreader spars and running them with the pitch would help somewhat.

Hi Steve, well I looked at all the tents email a heap of ebay buyers and spoke to a lot of camper trailer company's.

Verdict DO NOT buy a ebay tent, it will not last, they call them disposable tents.

I brought a Aussie made one full awning $ 4000.00 cash read to fit on trailer be ready on 14th well made.

Sure, no problem. He also does board mounted fold out tents to suit soft top trailers and all he needs is the size of the trailer and the distance to the ground. He can put in floors, extra windows and doors fly screens anything you want. He also uses heavy canvas if required.
