Hello All,
I am one of the lucky proud owners of a new 2007 defender 110 and was looking at getting LR Rally (driving) lights, a waeco fridge (Cf-60a) and gme tx3440 uhf radio for it.

And therefore need a dual batteries system but not sure what system / batteries to get and where from. So any thoughts & or comments would be great.

I dont know what suppliers you have access to over there, but I can definitely recommend Odyssey batteries (better than Optima) and the Swiss, IBS split charge unit.

IBS unit is high quality, small install and forget it. National Luna is also a decent unit.

I've been running HID's, fog lights, and a national luna fridge/freezer with no dramas at all off the existing battery and although I don't run it over night and make sure it is not running for more then 2 hours after the vehicle is stopped it is fine. So i wouldn't feel you need to rush into your decision unless you have a trip planned.

Control systems From Drivesafe's site:

Might be worth asking if they offer a discount to AULRO members (used to)? Traxide is a sponsor.

This may be of assistance:

Normally the driving lights will be running off the alternator rather than the battery so this will not be a factor in the decision. Keeping the beer cold will be.

I also have the traxide SC-40 duel battery setup - from Drivesafe here on the forum. I have a 100Amp hour Fully sealed GEl Deep Cycle Commander battery which runs my Engel 40 l fridge, 300W pure sine inverter and my Blue Tongue Air compressor. I have used the inverter and fridge for 2 days without issue.

Talk to drivesafe - he's your man. ;)

I recently completely flattened my starter battery by forgeting to turn down or off the engel fridge overnight (was on freeze setting). A traxide is on my list of improvements.
