Now, I know someone is going to ask why I need to find a NRMA appoved Landrover repairer in Sydney so, before you ask, I wasn't driving, not even in the vehicle!
That should give an idea of how much I can safely say.
Anyway, does anyone know of a good Landrover approved NRMA repairer?

Hi Damo,
I hope the damage isn't too bad :(.
Give Caldwells at Condell Park a call, just around the corner from you ;). They're an authorised LR repairer but I'm not too sure on the NRMA side of things.

Did you get the original motor going or do the long awaited transplant?
I felt pretty helpless watching you, but I know there's nothing worse than having a ton of people trying to help at once.

Did you get the original motor going or do the long awaited transplant? The original motor is dead. #8 conrod broke & tried going up into #7. The conrod split #7 liner :(.
I didn't do the long awaited Tdi transplant, I just used the motor out of my spare RR (3.9 high comp) :).

Caldwells were one of the ones recommended to me by the NRMA assessment centre when I needed some work on the defender. Ended up going to someone more local who did a good job (But defenders 'are' like a meccano set)

I would love to hear of someone who can repair D3 lower tailgates. (Damn snatchum strap)

He he, I guessed it might have been a strap when I heard you'd been on Stockton Beach :(.
Can't you say it's hail damage & get it done under insurance? :BigThumb:

So long as it doesn't have this sort of damage

I've seen that photo before somewhere. A recovery down the Royal National Park way from memory.

I got it! The handle was used to join two snatch straps however, the recovery was, shall we say "difficult?'

Actually off Garie Beach - I did post a series a while back (taken by a mate)

Correct - Nothing to do with me though, a Kluger and a 100 series (IIRC) Kluger was brand new, borrowed by a salesman, and spend the night below the high tide line :o

I wonder if the salesman still has the job...... If I remember the days when when my old man owned a car yard, he probably does:D
So, the Klager was snatched out, the sandcruiser stopped short, Klager didn't, and the straps parted on the first attempt?
Sound about right?

Unfortunately, if I tell a lie it shows on my face.:o
On the plus side, it looks like the hail damage can be "dentless" repaired. Unfortunately, this doesn't help the carpark damage. (Don't you louuuve people who "hit & run".)

I got some hail damage to the P38A in those last storms at Penrith. Not a lot, just a couple on the upper tailgate aluminium skin.
I rang AAMI - yes, they'd fix it but the car would no longer be insured as it was now hail damaged.
I got it fixed myself.

Just in case any one else wanted to know......
Ron, I only check girls for hail damage!:p
