I need to remove centre console on D2 ES and I just cannot move the gear selector knob.
I have followed the manual which just say select "D" remove gear selector knob and collector spacer.
It just will not move either clockwise or anti clockwise! Does it pull off? Tried but no movement. Do I need to press selector button while trying to turn/pull?
:confused::confused::confused:
Any help much apprietiated
Thanks

David,
On a D2, just grab hold of the actual handle/ knob and pull it vertically, hard. It is only pushed/ clipped into place.

Do not twist the knob.
Just give it one huge almighty yank. Be sure you don't punch yourself in the face when it does come off the stick! :twisted:

And IF you should happen to twist it too much and break the little plastic bits inside the knob, it will can render the release lever useless when the knob twists a little, allowing it to slip easily to the wrong gear if you bump the lever. You then drill and tap the knob from the front side and fit a grub screw to prevent it twisting.:blush:
