Hi guys...

gee i felt stupid yesterday.... anyway the story...

i have been having what i thought were electrical gremlins on the disco.. the rear wiper would randomly seem to come on after it had been used... once it started i had to switch it on and then off again to stop it. i just took its as one of those things that wasnt important so wasnt really bothered.

anyway yesterday we had some decent rain, and i used the rear wiper.. got to work (with the rear wiper off) parked up and noticed it the rear wiper working... strange i thought must be a short somewhere, so i played about a bit and concluded that something must be tripping it when the reversing light came on...

20 seconds later i felt like the most stupid person on earth! if the front wipers are on and you dump it in to reverse it automatically clears the rear screen! and heres me thinking it was gremlins... its quite a nice feature really! :D

im guessing everyone else knows about this and can laugh suitably hard at me..

Thanks

Steve

They are odd, washers but no wipers, they wet the headlight but don't clean them:spudnikwhat::Rolling:

Steve,

Can you read or are you a 'practice' man?

All clearly stated in the owners manual and for further enlightenment the Rave Cd has some interesting interpretations.

I can just see it....time wasted on finding a non existent electrical problem.

Paranoid are we? :p

hehe thanks Feral...

nah no time wasted as it wasnt important to me.. i didnt even realise.. as i have never had a car that does that! never even heard of a car that does that either... :)

i dont generally read manual... im a guy.. what do you expect! i guess i should do tho!

where in the rave cd is the info on that stored?

Thanks

don't feel too bad 5teve

at cooma i did a similar thing

while trying to work out my clutch problems i pulled the rubber cover that goes over the gearstick and CDL lever. i went to push the CDL lever into the netural position and it slipped straight across to the locked position, i first thought damn another issue to lok at when i get home, so i played a little longer going left to right and into netural and continued to think its never done that before......normally when i want to lock the centre diff i go to netural first across than back into high

as guys offered there help i indicated that suddenly my center diff lock lever has an issue as well.........and went onto explain

thats when they told me thats how it is supposed to work:angel:

silly me....and to think i have had the rig for 3 years

well they say you should learn something new everyday

A quick warning. The headlight washer ONLY operate on every 3rd use of the windscreen washer and then ONLY when the headlights are on!

So dont everybody go trying to fix intermittent headlight washers this weekend. :wallbash::woot:

My Defender has headlight washers.
It's the Root Hog crossing on the Bridal track north of Bathurst.
But it doesn't always work as expected. It took me ages to work out that it only works after there has been rain upstream!!:D:D
