They will need to be custom made, no off the shelf lift kits over 2", also if you go over 2" you'll need a castor adjustment and i think adjustable panard rod too.
If you go over 30" diameter tyres you'll need a guard trim too.

Got 31" at tyres on my d1 with no lift, air bag inside coils on rear and will fit 15mm spacers in the front since I fitted the bullbar. Dont know the offset of non standard rims. The front touch a little sometimes on the side steps (side step needs to go back about 10mm). I dont do any serius off road but I dont have any real dramas
cheers

ps most people go 2" lift and then get the rest in body lift I think

im going to be fitting a 2inch lift to mine with a 1 inch body lift to clear the way for rubber, maybe that would work for you?

For a 3" lift Rovertym in the USA do this, and with the dollar where it is, bring stuff in is good value.

You can get 3" springs from Dobinson in Qld ( I know this because I have them:cool: )

I have fitted an EFS (basically Carols suspension apparently) to my D1 V8 which has gven me 50mm lift. I want some more lift but I will be fitting a body lift to give me more clearance off road.I am hoping to get a Rovertym kit from the US which is a complete kit with everything you need for a 2 inch body lift, basically a bolt in kit.
Then I have the option to upsize my tyres which are currently 245/75/16 (equivalent to 31's) to maybe 33's.
If you go to 3 inch suspension lift, you will also have to change other suspension components to realign yur steering geometry or otherwise it will handle like a dog :o and wear out tyres like they are going out of fashion
I reckon that if you want 3 inches of lift, go a 2 inch suspension kit and then do a 1 inch body lift. It will be better in the long run and probably much cheaper.
in total I will eventually have
2 inch suspension lift
2 inch body lift
1 to 2 inch lift from oversize tyres
which = FUN :D

If you need more than a 2" lift for biggers tyres then you will need to factor in upgraded diffs as well, with a 2" lift and decent tyres there are not many places you wont get a disco ( or RRC ) without any panel damage. I would just go the 2" lift as there are plenty of choices and you wont have to do any other mods.

if i do the 2 inch lift is the any other mods i have to do to do the 1 inch body lift

Body lift is more complicated as you will need to check everything and extend those that wont reach - ie brake lines, steering shaft etc. On an RRC you can get away with a 1" bl and do almost nothing but i'm not sure about disco's.

have a look here Rovertym Engineering (http://www.rovertym.com/) and click on the 2" body lift at the left, they reckon this kit is all you need and has everything to complete the fitting. Its more than just the lift blocks, it has seat belt extensions, radiator kit, steering kit and TC shifter adaptor and they recon it can be fitted by two guys with basic tools in a day :o
I cant vouch for the kit, but it is the one I am looking at getting. The cost is reasonable, just waiting for a reply to my email about freight cost from the US.
hope that is some help.

I've imported a bit from the US, and the shipping is expensive, but the dollar and the cost of parts over there still can make it very worthwhile.
Importing tyres is much of a much
Importing drive shafts is outstanding value.

Guy's if it was not for the fact that I am flying to the UK I would have bought my parts from the US.
I buy alot of golf gear from the US and while the dollar is up its the best time to buy.

I use lift kits from LRA.http://www.lrautomotive.com.au/23.html They not cheap, but have all you need to get it engineered.May be cheaper in the long run. Some US stuff is not compliant. Rovertym are awsome and I've used some of there gear but.... Talk to an engineer 1st.

I have just done my D1 V8 with an off the shelf lift (king springs and shocks) and fitted 265/75x16 MT's. It has made a massive difference to the height, over three inches in total maybe due to the fact that the old springs were pretty sagged. The only thing that Ive had to do was trim the rear gaurds a little for the tyres. Nothing else so far

are there any issues with the steering kit on the LHD disco being different to the RHD? Just a thought, that kit is miiighty tempting... the only problem is, if i get a 2" spring lift and 2" body lift, my 245's will look too small! i'll have to get some of these NAS Discovery Tdi (http://www.eastcoastrover.com/Discotech3.html) muhuhahahahaaaaa

If its only one inch then you can get away with making adjustments to the rear seat belts points, the shroud covering the fan in the engine bay and I think there is some mod needed for the rear somewhere but I cant remember. Im doing the same to mine very shortly
