I was going to say Eastern brown, because of the blunt head, the whip snake has a sharper head and is darker.
I could be wrong

Through my brief research, its identical to the eastern tiapan, but the eye markings on it were pretty conclusive of the whippet

Definitely a Yellow Faced Whip, mildly venomous, burning pain followed by an intense itch, feeds mainly on small skinks, not considered dangerous to humans.

I'm pretty sure the trouser snake only has one eye like a cyclops, where that one has two eyes. :D

You caught it inside the house?
I still have nightmares about an old James Bond movie where the baddies put a bad **** snake in Bond's bedroom & it made it's way onto the bed . Had a snake phobia ever since. Took months after watching that to be able to sleep! Give me a spider any time of the day!

Yeah inside. Its actually common to get tree snakes inside. I dont mind catching them all that much, but they're so very fast and such a nervous snake.

If it was me finding a snake in the house you would need much more than a vanilla leaf air freshener for clean up!

?? You go catching snakes without knowing what sort it is??
Reminders of my neighbour's story.. he was posted to an admin position in a private school in Alice. Down comes the news that there's a snake in a classroom. Said neighbour panics, starts ringing police, insurance cos. etc. When he got their, the girls had long since caught it. And cracked it.

Can anyone identify this snake?
Maybe Aaron can come & catch it.
I found it on the verandah last night when I went to feed precious, our cat.

FWIW You never want to be bitten by a trouser snake, as it takes 9 months for the swelling to go down.

Well thanks for that DeeJay ... I'm even more paranoid now. I have 4 cats one of them is as deaf as a post! I'd have a full blown coronary if I came home to see my poor cat strung from the rafters. Please tell me it didn't suffer:( (Or alternatively LIE THROUGH YOUR TEETH)

Precious did'nt suffer, he had terminal cancer and was on $30.00 worth of painkillers a day. He would'nt have felt a thing.
Believe me, I drive Landrovers I would'nt lie to you:angel:

If your still living in Sydney your verandah must stretch all the way to Nth QLD for you to have that Amythestine Python on it:eek:, unless its an escaped pet.Interestingly, being Australias largest python, up to 6m,they are the reason that Feral Cats and foxes are not much of a problem in the tropical northern rainforests.
