Included on the following thread is a very interesting post about fitting a Chubb five-lever mortice lock to a Landrover door

Rear door - enhanced sucurity - Land Rover Zone (http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f7/rear-door-enhanced-sucurity-29745.html?highlight=locks)

I would like to hear from anyone who’s done this or has any advice / information about it.

Which lock, exactly? There are a number of Chubb locks which meet this description.

My vehicle is a Defender Td5 110 CSW (2005).

someone posted up on here about installing a deadbolt style lock on a fender... very secure and wasn't very obvious it was installed... can't for the life of me remember who did it though as i've wanted to do the same for a while now :(

Whats the point???

I have a $15.00 spring loaded "window remover" that negates the whole process.

If they want in, they'll be in...

Which is my approach...

I just do enough to act as a deterrent so I have made the load space secure (window guards, load guard & lock on rear door) and have an immobilizer on the engine.

I'll then stick any valuables in the boot when I leave the car so that if they do break in I can limit the amount they'll get away with.

I put up a post about a year ago about some Dutch people who stayed with me, who used a simple deadbolt system to lock their front doors. I'll have a search and see if I can find it.
