HI guys i am looking at a 97 tdi discovery with 270000kms on the clock. Anything in particular i should look for?Also what are the main faults with this vehicle in the long run?Any particular mods that you recommend straight up...2 inch lift kit?32s or 33" tyres?

I would look for one with a lot lower KM :eek:

It sounds high but it is a Disco1 not a 3. It's only about 25k per year.

My advice on mods would be to buy one and drive it for a while and see what you would like to change to improve it for your needs.

No point rushing out and spending $10k on it when you don't know what it will do as is.

For one with that kms I'd be looking for full service history - you really need to know what has been done to it.

If you let us know where you are, we can direct you to an independent shop that can give it a full pre-purchase inspection. It's certainly worth doing.
