I know.... I'm probably dumb, but every time I try to watch video lately, it starts....stops and freezes.
Any ideas? I've tried shutting everything else down so I'm not using all the ram etc but to no avail.

Ahh. I had this problem. I can't remember the fix :( but I found the answer by Googling it.

Does it freeze and stay frozen? Maybe its a buffering issue. When you're watching an on line vid there should always be a portion of red (downloaded content) to the right of the place marker.
For example:

As WhiteD3 asks - do the vids stop and start... or just stop?
If stop and start it's probably the download speed being slower than the playback speed (ie buffer is emptying faster than it can be filled).
In WhiteD3's pic the red line is the point the downloading is at, the circle is the point the playback is at. If they are at the same place on the progress bar or close then you will get stop-start video. Just pause playback until more has downloaded.

They seem to download... but play a few frames then stop. If I manually slide the playback marker along I get to see the next bit...bloody annoying.
