I think that Bloomberg is taking a very US-centric view of this. I get the impression that Tata knows exactly what it is doing. The purchase to them represents a cheap (yes cheap!) way of gaining access to cutting edge auto technology.

I fear for the Defender though, Tata already produces it's own military 4wd.
