i am trying to pur a cdl into my 2002 TD5 that missed getting it from the factory. i got a xfer from a rangerover to take the cdl locking mechanism and front snout out and swap over, but my mechanic tells me the snout is different and wont fit. have i gotten the wrong xfer box ? is a rangey xfer different to d2 ??

Yes won't fit, you need the internals from an LT230 transfer case from a 99 on D2 or Defender.

I was offered an exchange Transfer case for my D2 by Award Diffs in Rydalmere for $1100 if that helps.

sellers says suits 1994 on all discoveries,
but the last guy i bought transfer case off also said the one he sold me would fit and it don't :/

Yes that should fit, others will confirm i'm sure, only issue is that transfer is from a D1, it wont have the Hi/Low range selector switch that the D2 transfer has. This switch works alters your fuel mapping in the ecu when you select low range and i think it also has something to do with Hill Decent Control. The switch can be retro fitted though, need to buy the switch and drill/tap the hole for it in the correct location in the transfer case. I had to do this as i used a D1 front output housing on my D2 to give me CDL.

No it won't bolt straight, it will need a slight mod to suit.

You need a D2 or a 99 on defender Transfer case.
