A mate of mine with a D3 has just got 5 new Coopers so I scored his brand new Wrangler spare for a carton of beer:D. Timings crap as I just replaced a staked tyre for $446!:(
Anyway, my question is: is there anything I should be doing re proper storage of said tyre?
Cheers.

Tyres don't like prolonged exposure to UV light...so I suggest you wrap it up and store it out of the sunshine.
I did an inventory at an army base recently where we came across 20 year old tyres in perfect condition because they'd been stored correctly.
You could be extra carefull and spray it with Armourall before you wrap it.

mark, streaky has got it, store it out of daylight and keep it away from excess heat.
it will harden up with age, which is good for semi's tyres, but not so good for car tyres, but you will probably need to use it some time as you have only wrecked one tyre so far!!

Gee Garry, you really know how to cheer a guy up. I'm still in trouble at home re the cost!
Waynep, yep, and that was after ringing around for the best deal.
Streaky, thanks for that. I'd "Thank you" for that but the button's gone.
