Gday all,
Have come across a set of old man emu springs/shocks 2" lift for a defender but was wondering how hard they where to fit?
At the moment im driving a 96 130 single cab, and havent really done many mods to it, so on the cards was the 2" lift + tyres.
Am sure iv seen posts/tourials on how to make the change but cannot seem too find any of the threads, any feedback would be great.
Cheers, toby

Make sure the springs are for the 130 and not a 110... I think they are different:confused:
Id be interested in any install threads myself.
Im in the same process as you also (im staying standard height though). My brief research tells me its a pretty easy job. I'm the most amateur person with mechanics you would meet, but im going to give it a go myself.

130 and 110 rear springs are different, I think the front are the same though. Replacing springs and shocks whether original or lifted is fairly simple - in fact rear is almost trivial. Main problem will be the stuff you have to take off to get at the top of the front suspension towers and the rusted up shock absorber nuts, especially the bottom of the front shocks - you want to plan on having an angle grinder handy, although it may not be necessary.

'94-'02 defender spring rates
110/130 HD front springs are the same.
110/130 HD rear springs are the same. The 130 just uses an inner spring to increase load capacity (from the factory) Some aftermarket suppliers wind a HD main spring where you can delete the inner spring.
OE HD Front spring rate 225lb/in
OE HD rear spring rate 330lb/in
OE Rear inner spring 140 lb/in.
Post '02, spring rates are different, with rear main springs being variable rate.
