Got a call last night from Disco Steve. He got as far as the dog on the tuckerbox when the front input seal on his new box failed. Oil from the box was going all over the exhaust so he pulled over in a cloud of smoke. Office running a speed trap 200 meters down the highway saw the smoke and thought his car was on fire so radioed for the fire brigade and then proceeded to drive the wrong way up the freeway at light speed to help put the fire out. Apparently the police cars tires were making almost as much smoke as the rangie:D:D.
It was while the cop was charging at him with extinguisher in hand that Steve explained it was only a gearbox leak.
What I did learn last night was that the Pajero can tow a fully loaded Rangie but not very fast up hill.

So I guess I have 2 weeks to strip and sell his rig before he catches me:twisted:.

i would be checking the converter was inserted in to the pump corectly would be my first port of call and check the breather have seen 727s do this before

Yep it's the converter seal.

Phil no photo's as I didn't have a camera. If I did then I could have gotten out and taken a few photo's of us going up hill at an amazing 30km/h

if the converter has not been fitted propely it ****s the seal and also the pump

Yes. The manual had teeth missing on reverse so the auto went in.

Hey Edd, was Steve on his way to Tassie? I've been trying to get in touch with him but had forgoten about his trip away. I loaned him a spare wheel for his Rangie when you guys went up to Stockton, I need it back. Don't suppose its still hanging on the back bumper???? A black sunrasia with a 'Wild Conquerer' 31x10.50.
