I would recommend you join up to Stage 1 V8 :: Index (http://www.stage1v8.org.uk/phpBB2) That's the place I go to get info for my stage and also to bounce ideas off... Bit of an uncommon car!

Yup, I agree with Stirling. Join the Stage 1 Index.

They are great - a bit like my County but without the comfort :p

I found a quote on the net recently where a guy got his wife to try a Stage 1 he was think of buying. She loved it, but asked why the steering wheel did not work :D:D:D

Ahh but when you run 35's or bigger Simex's then the arms get a workout...

You're gonna need some offset rims and chopping out the guards. I can only just barely fit 33x12.5 claws on mine. And even they rub from time to time!

Nah, dont need to cut the guards or use wheel spacers...

Very nice

Now we both have a Stage 1 and a County each, what are you planning on buying next so I can plan ahead?

Surely someone can come up with something better? Aren't there any generic flares that you could put on? anything would have to be better than whats on it surely?

Land rover did, standard 110/county flares:D

I reckon that when you cut the guards like that and put that horrible rubber stuff around it it looks damned horrible horrible horrible

BTW...we used to have a stage 1...it was lovely but you did need muscles on muscles to use it as a daily driver and a left thumb to match all thumbs to release the handbrake. But the sound of that V8.....pure magic :D

You can get them neater...

BUT its built for 1 job... Bush work.... and its only going to get more action...
Wait until i shorten the back by 8 inches.....
Dave did a great job on the mods... ive been over it and the power steer convertion is good as is the suspension mods....
I'm happy with it....

If i do that, then i have to increase the track and fit rover diffs and then do a coil conversion.....

Mmmmmmmm
