Don't know if any one here has had the pleasure but for the Landie enthusiast this is a great listen.
Len was the surveyor that opened up the heart of Australia, and in his talks he reminisces about the Landies used for the work..
He's a funny bugger and it's well worth getting a hold of the Shepparton talk.

Have had a copy for a number of years and agree it's great to hear a real character narrate such stories.

Lenny was a real character with a God given ability to make ordinary situations absolutely hilarious.
I met him on a number of occasions and his admiration for Land Rovers I believe was sincere. Greatly helped by the fact that he was supported by the Australian Army.
When questioned in the early 80s about using a Toyota to do what he did he indicated that the size of the 88 inch was a real advantage.

I had the great pleasure to read his book while i drove some of his tracks around Aus. great books with a grat sense of humour (what i got from the books). Even more so when you are in the area at the time you are reading it . Some of the things he did to a land rover in the middle of nowhere was unreal In fact just bought some of his other books to read on the plane to the Uk next week

I met Len many long years ago and had the pleasure to invite him to attend a mixed night for the then Lions Club that I was secretary of.
One of the best speakers and best sense of humour that I have ever come across. We were all tired at the end of the night from the constant laughter.
A true and special Australian. His books are a great read.
