Hi again,

Took the D2 in for a service the other day and i knew it had a few oil leaks which the service center informed me about but it never leaked oil on the ground. Now that i have the car back it's leaving tracks everywhere, but the urgent one is the one coming from the engine (photo supplied).
As you can see by the pic it's where the line goes in with the 2 nuts. now both nuts are tight and I've wiped down the area a couple of times and it leak seems to be coming from that area.
So I'm asking would i need to replace the main nut or the whole line (not preferred) or is there a way to tape up the thread(eg: gas tape) to stop the leak?

your ideas would be greatfull

If you remove the metal pipe you'll find an O ring on it. Then remove the larger Nut & theres another O ring behind that. Replace both the O rings & refit with ptfe thread tape & that should sought it.

good luck

hunt around for the thread I did on loctited and grab the 567 (theres another one thats better as its a specialist pressuruised thread sealing compund not just a flange sealer) to use in place of the pfte tape it has the advantage of not leaving dags that can wind up in the oil.

but seconded, unless its been tightened to the point that its damaged the threads or the sealing faces then replacement of the o rings is all thats required and somewhere like norseal will be able to sell you a top of the range seal that would probabley make a passing grade to be used in the shuttle for less than what a dealer will normally ask for an OE one.
