Well as many of you know, this young lad popped into the world last Tuesday:

Now some are saying that cause he is kinda cute that I couldn't be the Dad ....you know who you are :p. Anyhoo, with 3 already under the belt and now lucky number 4 and last ( If I hear snip snip one more time from SWMBO'd I tell ya :)), I thought I would share some of my tips.

Now during the day, its not so bad, bit of a whinge here and there ( if you dont work from home....even better), but main tip is make sure SWMBO breast feeds, your off the hook straight away :D. Later in the evening, this is when you make a huge effort, cook dinner, clean up, hang out in office on puter...ie always looking busy so when it comes to the dreaded night part.....you have some leeway. Now in my case, Im not much chop with the nights...the other SWMBO'ds will no doubt have lovely expressions for this.....heck even my own does. So the tip is again making sure the bub is breastfed, I know for sure my mancans don't produce anything like milk...so again off the hook. Second thing.....for a good nights sleep....Dont sleep in the same room .

Harsh....dangerous..........worth it...oh my laudy yes ;). At our house with already 4 children, the upside is that being a mine, yours and ours situation, there is always a spare bed available. Tonight is the queen sized bed as her son is at his dads, last night was my others sons bed cause my daughter who is sick is with me, so couldnt snaffle her bed like I did the previous night. Bummer is when we have them all...remedy....pull out bed in the lounge...Plasma....fridge close by....what more can a man ask for.

So men, what other tips do you have?

Regards

Stevo

P.S. Those who know Sharlea, please do not point her in the direction of this thread...for someone reason of late..she is looking tired and cranky...dont wanna upset her

a snip might not be all you get when sharlea reads that!!
and if you think you will be getting anything else, probably have to rethink it also!!

congrats on your son

My wife and I had an arrangement for our kids. I think it may be appropriate here.

You both helped with the breeding, therefore, you both help with the feeding.

It worked for us.

It's not hard, it's just life.

There are many a bloke who cannot procreate and would kill to be in the position you are in, take the good with the bad and appreciate it.

That actually is our agreement, I snore, I can't feed, so in the middle of the night she wants to take an axe to me :D, plus with 7 mouths to feed and one income, I have to be ontop of it. Hence why I make sure I help out in other area's to compensate. Though she is threatening me with expressing ;),

Congrats.
With both of ours I had to do the night feeds and things due to complications at birth and botched surgery on my wife. So sorry but no tips other than my wife is the light sleeper these days so I don't hear the kids till SWMBO is already up.

Both ours didnt take to the cans too well so i did my share and got up every 2 - 3 hours to bottle feed ( both were premmies) it was really tough when i had just started a new job and changed careers as well - god knows why they kept me when i would come in to work with barely 4 hours sleep .
We learnt early on to put bubs in their own rooms asap so we all could get some sleep.
