On the 3rd and 4th of May I will be competing (navigating) in the Donald 500. This is the second round of the Australian Off Road Championship.

Its probably the best incarnation of the Australian Rivmaster frame in Australia.
Built "no expense spared" by a famed Offroad racer in the Hunter region. Porsche 930 box, chrome molley frame, individually tuned Bilsteins,(two on the back act as anti-roll devices) Mitsubishi evo turbo motor, intercooler the size of Texas, [thats the one in QLD ;)]

2 by 100kay loops on saturday
2 by 100kay loops on sunday morning
1 by 100kay loop on sunday arvo.

that last one will be the killer---
I have done a LOT of kays in a race car with Russel,, just that this one is geared for over 200,, :eek::eek:
apparently none of the yank tanks can touch us up there,,
which is probably a good thing:D

Leaving sunny Maryborough Tuesday afternoon,,
back the following wednesday morning.
Using Russells brand new 3L Patrol to tow with,,
This is his second one and quite happy with the way it tows,, 2700 at 100 :eek:

and the only thing I have to pay for the entire week is my booze---

Yeah, it's going to be a fast(er) event this year, with a lot of the big boys 'n' their toys in town.

Yeah...(NO, not this year anyhow).
- budget / time / work constraints limit that...
We're focusing on the SA series for this year.
It really comes down to the owner/driver (not me so much).

- and we need get some much needed in-car time and reliability happening.
Our last two years has been a bit ordinary, mechanical issues have been dogging us since the car was debuted in July 06.
We ran at Donald last year until the diff smashed itself :mad:, and that was the end of running a Renualt transaxle, and HELLO ALBINS (http://www.albinsgear.com.au/) AGB :cool: ($$,$$$) :eek:
If you like it FAST, you'll enjoy Donald, just watch the dust.
