Other then the love of Land Rovers I have been breeding African and South American cichlids for a number of years 25 years to be exact any way one day I woke up and got bored of the hobby and wanted to venture into something different

On a recent work trip for the wife with the rail we went to a place called Sandy hollows up past newcatle the 3 year old and I went for a bit of a bush walk to come across a stream where we found hundreds of little frogs all calling out quite strange though as they tend to breed in September according to a later research on the particular speacies (the Parson tree frog)

Any way we came home and created this and waiting for a licence to be able to keep a few froggies

I did the aggressive cichlid thing. Decided to settle for a Discus and a few other things. I'm pretty much over fish and thinking about going to reptiles now.

Your set up looks great.

noice, very noice...

I kept aussie rainbows and blueyes myself before leaving melbourne - was a member of ANGFA Home Page (http://www.angfa.org.au) for years... I'm sure there is a herpetology equivalent about...

I'm sure that I'm trying to teach you to "suck eggs" but there is a protocol of not transferring native frogs from one area to another in order to prevent the transfer of disease.

No its a good point Pete hence why we caught frogs with the 3 year old who has no fear of animals but we let them go to obtain a licence and buy captivity mated off spring

here a bigger pic on the left is a water fall the pump sits to the right under the rocks to circulate the water and in the large vase there a canister filter to keep things clean I justed added some australian native moutian clouds or white clouds as more commomly known a few spiny eels to swim in the water

they eat woodies and crickets and any other insect that fits in there mouths about 2 each frog per night and you buy them either pet shops or from this website to Frogs. And more frogs. All at frogs.org.au. (http://frogs.org.au/)

I'm going for either oneof these

cichlid thing got a bit boring specially the African aspect of it as you would by small fry for $20 each due to rarity of the cichlid by the time they grow up to breading size you couldn't get a $1 for them because every idiot went did the same as you and thought they where onto something new well new at the time

go with Litoria splendida as they are a much more placid captive then L. infrafrenata.

Do you buy them as pollywogs or fully grown? If you could get tadpoles I should get them for my pond which I'm slowly in the process of making. I am sure they would just hop off once they were old enough.

Nice setup. I have a tank the same size with a crack toward the top that I was wondering what to do with. I'm inspired. I had Barramundi, was always interesting watching it hunt live feed with all the logjams I created for it.

if you catch them local and place them into your pond that's OK in my opinion, they will hop away but return for breeding

put some white clouds in there to reduce mossies

I be buying them in the morp stage or as frogs
