Are you talking about Windows XP or something else?

Why not set up a separate password protected user? Then your my documents folder will be automatically protected.
Cheers

Yes more detail needed... sounds like windows system your talking about..... AFAIK you can't password protect folders. Having said that - I've got one computer with xp and a while ago came across a microsoft upgrade whereby you could download a special password protected folder. Not sure whether its still available. ... actually it is - here (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Lockdown/Microsoft-Private-Folder.shtml)

XP Home edition you can set limited protection on folders. This amounts to whether one user can see anothers or not.
XP Proffessional can have full user protection set on files or folders
Either way you are better off with one administrator account and seperate user accounts if you have multiple users on the PC

Try this
TrueCrypt - Free Open-Source On-The-Fly Disk Encryption Software for Windows Vista/XP, Mac OS X and Linux (http://www.truecrypt.org/)
Just encrypt/ password protect a file on your drive as a drive and keep the sacred things in there.
Great for USB drives

Not a problem. The usual way security is done on the NT/2k/XP/Vista line is via user accounts and file/folder permissions.
If you can do seperate users, this is by far the best and easiest method.
If that will work for you, I'll post a howto if someone else hasn't already given you enough info to figure it out by then.

Do you mean the default admin password for the Administrator account in Win XP?
If so, don't revert back to the original password (even though you can) as it's the same default password for every default install of XP across the world, and thus the easiest way for an intruder to get into your system.
