What causes this: When I press "ext" on the climate control, the temp appears about 10 degrees hotter than it should be sometimes. Other times it's fine. This is possibly interfering with the system itself as sometimes it tries to make the cab too cold. Where is the temperature probe found? Any known faults?

Ok I have an idea... I've fitted a larger trans cooler. Its "up the front". Warm air from this might blow on the sensor if it's near this... does this affect cabin temp though?

i just checked in RAVE. i asume u mean for ur d2? it looks to sit somewhere either infront of or behind the radiator in an upright position. slides onto a vertical mount. all it says is to remove the front grille for access.

Got it and made a little heat shield/air duct to keep it in fresh air. I'll see how it goes!
