I'm wanting to change my rear sls to coil springs fairly soon and was wondering what a fair price would be for the airbags and compressor out of my Disco?
The SLS system is working perfectly with no leaks, only reason i want to change is for reliability off road.

Heres what I know.
New Original OEM LR airbags from a LR dealer are $860 ea!!!! :o:o
New OEM by Dunlop (without the LR badge but the same part) are $600ea :o
New Arnott Ind copy are US$129 ea ;)

2nd Hand SLS Bags dont seem to seem to get much interest considering what they cost new. I'm watching a bunch of them with bids from US$0.99 to $US20 some with bids but even at US$5 reserve, some are not attracting any bids (in the US). Some have a reserve of US$75 and no ones bidding.
My guess is that since they're really not expected to last more than 10 yrs, most folk buy new. I guess a good 2nd hand one for an emergency is a good idea.

I also saw a SLS D2 Compressor go unsold this week with a reserve of US$399. A new one is estimated at $1000 (no actual quote, just the LR dealers guess over phone)

I just bought new SLS bags from US (arriving soon). So I might be interested in the compressor as a back-up if my problem isn't the airbags after all. I'm having the fault codes checked soon which may reveal a compressor issue but I doubt it.
Funny thing with my D2, since the Toolangi trip, its been sitting up all week, no sagging. I'm only buying the new bags as a preventative incase they're beginning to go ???:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Hope this rambling helps a bit..
