In my eyes the thread celebrated antagonism & wasn't bringing out the best in people. I'm not for that.

It reflects poorly on this forum
It reflects poorly on that forum
It did nothing to better anything
It did nothing to better anyone
It induced disharmony amongst users of both forums and within forums in what was an otherwise harmonious environment.

There's no need to foster any more hate in the world is there. It starts with just something little here, and then some more there and then its accepted, and then its the norm and then its rife. I've been around long enough to see it happen "just like that". We already saw the start of a witch hunt, and so long live Macarthyism.... not

I guess really the question is... why should AULRO pay good money to host such a thread? I don't believe out of interest is a good enough reason... well, it wouldn't be for me.

Sorry if it offends anyone but I took the action as I felt it was not the sort of thread on here on or LZ with which the majority of us would like.

The last thing I wanted was a forum war.

I think that the LZ site has just a few who stirred the pot and that most would not be in agreement with their actions either. Oddly enough, what I've read there reminds me of the 4WD Monthly forum members.... :o

:)

I could have nuked the threads but instead I moved them to an area visible only to Mods - at that time of night I was the only Mod on-line. Thus far, no Mods have disagreed with my actions.

I'm sorry that it took me so long to act but working 11pm-7am shifts this week sort of puts me out of sync with the site.

this site operates with in a G rating, like it or lump it tony, that is the rating at which the majority wish this place to run at, me included.

what was cross quoted was outside that rating so was removed....

that doesnt mean that i or the other mods support a lot of the politically correct crap that is sometimes intertwined and dressed up as being necessary to maintain this rating level.

Inc, I fully agree as I said somewhere in the deleted post there was no need for the bad language ...but nowhere in this thread has there been any foul language, of any sort, I think the Aussie spirit and the larakin nature of the typical Aussie of 15-20 years ago has well an truly gone from todays society, (an this coming from a Pom) and I'm sorry to say so what if outlaws disgusted with this thread

Panda

I apologise Outlaw, didn't notice you were an Admin.

Therefore, it would be somewhat difficult for you to ignore the threads, as that is afterall, your job on this forum.

However, I am still not impressed on the whole, the posts were there one minute, & gone the next, & this is certainly not the first time this has happened. Akin to receiving half a letter in the mail, with no return address to respond.

Reiterating, I wanted the opportunity to read the posts in their entirety to make an informed decision & now am unable to do so. If the posts are so "offensive" and "sensitive" to so many people, why do they read them? (excluding the people on authority such as yourself), and why can't they be moved to an area specifically for that purpose. Wasn't there a "mud pit" section? Why can't there be a similar section for these occasions?

My suspicion is that people, despite their constant whingeing, like to read the posts, unless of course, they are so addicted they are unable to divert their attention to what they would find more beneficial to their purpose.

Unfortunately for some like myself, working 16 hours day, & unlike so many others on this forum, who seem to be able to spend a large portion of the working life on the forum (God only knows how they manage to actually get any work done, and no wonder the Asians are way on top economically compared with the Europeans, most especially Australia) on top of all the other duties such as cooking, washing cleaning, looking after animals, etc, etc, etc, I don't immediately have the time to peruse in full. It's a case of posting here & there with the view to when I have the time to go back & reread any relevant posts, or posts I have missed.

From memory, as the so called "sensitive" and "offensive" thread have disappeared, I don't recall any offensive language etc, from anyone posting on this forum regarding the said thread. I could be wrong, but now dont' have the opportunity to check.

I opine most people on this forum are unable to carry through a discussion. It's a fact of life that no-one is going to agree with everyone, that's the nature of the psychology of human beings, very disturbing however, that people find it necessary to "destroy the evidence" leaving the participants in the discussion hanging so to speak, so no further interaction can take place.

Whilst I don't agree with a lot of the posts on these threads, denying people the option to read & contribute, if they wish to, in my opinion is extremely childish, and yet another trend in the demise & breakdown of society's integration.

Okay I am personally getting sick and tired of the childish behavior happening on here and what happened in LZ.
