New Jack

I am after a new jack to get my 1990 RR ( with 2inch lift) off the ground safely whilst out in the bush.
A friend of mine swears by his Landcruiser Bottle jack.
Is this my best option?

The L/C one is not hydraulic, but pretty bloody good all the same.

If you can find a Disco 1 bottle jack somewhere that would be your best option.
They have the "cradle" for the DI/RR axle housing already built in.
Ring around the wreckers you never know.
With a 2" lift you MAY need to keep a 50 mm thick block of wood in the car to put under it.

Any bottle jack that can lift to the height will be OK - most that can lift to that height will have the lifting capacity - most will exceed 10000lb. Make sure in it lowest position it will still fit under the axle.

My 101 has the equivalent of 36" tyres and a 4" lift and one I bought for $90 (FAMM) with a 480mm lift works OK. I understand that Gasweld has one with a 500mm lift for a bit cheaper.
