Recently, while on the hwy, going to Vic High Country, the amber EPB light lit up. The EPB is working normally & the amber light goes out during the system check on startup, but returns shortly after starting off.

At about the same time, I noticed that the selected gear indicator on the dash is slow to indicate, however there is no problem with gear selection.

Yesterday, I noticed that the reversing lights didn't illuminate. Checked today & fuse & lights appear OK. However, the "R" gear indicator does not illuminate on the dash.

The first two issues may well be a software matter (similar to that described on a UK D3 forum).

The third issue may be similarly related, or may be the reverse gear "switch".

Has anyone here had similar issues or can help?

It looks like another trip to the dealers.:(

Hi Peter ;

Hi Khos,
Good to hear from you.

The trip was great (apart from the niggles). When we were down there, we also found a couple of spots where fisherman access the Murray R. (see, I have kept you in mind). ;)

It will be good to go back when the tracks reopen.

I'll try to keep in touch, if you will too.

Best Wishes,
Peter
PS: Still haven't got the hail damage sorted.

Hi Khos,
I have no urgency, as it will be fixed.

Further, I saw some of the other cars being fixed and realised how "well off" I was.

Further again, I want the job to be done properly (therefore "NO COWBOYS"). (In reality, while I love the colour of the paint, I think that repair will be difficult).

Low battery?
Can cause odd faults.

Low battery can also be caused by loose negative to battery (known issue). I had this problem causing all sorts of warning lights and messages to come on.

Hi CaverD3 & PCH,
You may well be right, however in the meantime I've spoken with Trivetts & they advised me to not drive it, but arrange for LR assist to have it towed to Trivetts.

It is now there &, hopefully, I'll hear some good news shortly.

Best Wishes,
Peter
PS: I also found that when I depressed the clutch & allowed the engine to "spool down" it was rough (& in two cases, stalled). I'll let you know the outcome.

Hi All,
Well today I got a call from Trivetts. Apparently, all the symptoms were due to a faulty transfer case ECU (the first that I'm aware of for the D3). Now replaced & all should be fine. Unfortunately, I can't pick it up before tomorrow.:(

Glad it's sorted.
Transfer case ecu is behind the battery box I think. Suseptable to water I coated mine and its connnectors with Plasticote.:)

Hi CaverD3,
I'll follow through on that, but water & my D3 haven't had much interaction.

Hi Peter,

How long have you had D3 & is this the only issue you have had?

I would be interested to know what sort of economy (L/100Km) you are getting from TDV6 as seriously considering upgrading from my TD5.

Cheers..Bruce
