Is the windscreen frame on a County a solid section or is it hollow ? If it is hollow, how thick is the side wall ?
I'm making my own snorkel and was thinking of drilling and tapping the frame to mount it.

I know the sides are hollow as this was how the snorkel on the previous county was attached. I used about 4 or 5 rivets from memory. It was originally attached with screws. These kept falling out on corregated roads. I can't recall how thick the side wall was.

Its a laminated solid setup.
The internal is a poor quality casting & thats why screws would pull out.
Suggest long rivets and as many as can fit.:)
I've got one in pieces but cant easily get to it for a pic.

Give me an hour while my camera batteries recharge and I'll get some pics of a broken 'A' pillar for you.

It's hollow, quite thick (4-5mm) cast alloy. My snorkel is held on by tech screws, work bloody well :D

Thanks for the replies guys, and the pics. That answers my question.
I will probably use large rivets as it will be on there to stay.

Usually they break in a rollover.
