Hi
Usually 3 amigoes refers to ABS TC and HDC(hill decsent control) lights on not the handbrake.
Read thru tech chatter loads of 3 amigoes info, dont know Ive heard of the ABS TC and handbrake on at once.
Goodluck.

Hi Disco Spargs,
I have the same issue....also, the TC "stuff" comes on when it doesn't have to, even when the wheels dont spin at all. I hear mechanical valves or something..
Have you/how did you fix your issue?

Caine

catch-22, that sounds like a abs sensor playing up. i had a right-front one that kept having intermittent faults on my d2 and also on my ba falcon before that. sometimes as it initially stops sending a signal, or sends a bad signal, it can trick the abs system into thinking it needs to apply abs to correct ts percieved wheel speed differences. a new sensor is around 250 i belive, or used/ebay anywhere from 90-160.
it could also be the tc system coming in as you turn sharply while accelerating. coming out of my local shell i sometimes get mine coming on. its a sharp left turn and causes the suspension to flex a bit over the spoon drain thingo. perhaps theres just a smidgen of slip from a tyre, or the tight turning angle- which causes the inside tyres to be slower than the outside tyres, tricks the t/c.

Thanks Simon...I also get the three amigos.....but I guess this is all related right? I have also had the abs / tc / hand brake light come on all at the same time. A slight variation to the three amigos...
Will be taking the rig to LR next week to check diagnostics....and prolly replace the censor depending on outcome.

Bet your happier to lose your licence for a month than to have written off the 2T vehicle and killed some innocent bystander.
So what did you wind it up too? Driving solo I got a lot of speed out of mine well over the legal limit. That was on a closed rd, then the brains kicked in and the brakes were applied.
Personally I wouldn't do it on the open Rd, too scary in a big vehicle.

They seem to peak out at about 160 irrespective of how the TD5 is setup. I think stocker I got about 158 and with a chip, intercooler, 4.11, 33's I got about 162 or 163. Both times were loaded and with a bullbar, so perhaps it may get more when lighter, but I doubt much more.

I can confirm, but it's just way to fast in a vehicle of that size, took me ages to remove the brown out of the seat. The County feels scary at 130kph but feels like it wants to do a lot more (same straight Rd, had to try it out)

Speed doesn't worry me, I spent a lot of years doing that with my butt 30mm from the ground.... its the corners that need attention.
Interestingly, the first time I did it I had a 2" lift and shocks were clapped out from a desert run. That made it very floaty and not very tidy at those speeds. When I did it with the 4" lift, the shocks are very stiff and it locked everything down and was quite sedate. There were no brown stains. :D Its not something that is very nice when everything is wallowing around.

A chipped TD5 can go stupidly fast with a heavy load.
I won't be posting up the speed I got up to with a car trailer and pajero on the back.

OK well I think the issue with my car is fixed. The battery was replaced recently and I haven't had the issue since..

Had a similar issue that saw me with the 3 amigos plus the CDL light on - the CDL switch cable had dropped and was earthing on the prop shaft - maybe worth seeing if your handbrake switch is shorting somewhere.
