fitting a new R380 tomorrow and there is a plastic staple to hold the throwout bearing to the clutch fork, this is weak as ****and can't see it lasting very long as it is a loose fit.
Previous owner of the vehicle had replaced it with a bent bit of fencing wire.
Tempted to leave it out,So what do you guys reckon?
throw it away or use it.
Cheers mickey

I didn't fit them (there should be two) as I forgot to order the suckers when replacing the clutch
Result is an occasionally noisy thrust race as it spins/bounces off the pressure plate fingers in neutral.

Use it as rick says it keeps the thrust bearing off the pressure plate....after a while (quite some time) it can wear into the fingers of the pressure plate, sort of like keeping your foot on the clutch pedal.

the manual lists them as an aid to installation and not installing them does not adversly effect the operation of the clutch...
the plastic bit on the pushrod tho.
