I am presently looking to buy a 1964 2a SWB hardtop which requires in addition to other work a replacement steering wheel as the existing one has a section of the plastic rim missing where it has come away from the steel inner rim. A question is will a wheel from another model fit and has anyone have a suitable wheel for sale?
Also the outer sections of the rear crossmember are rusty with these sections on the car I am looking at appear to be box section whereas there are pictures of the crossmember on this forum showing these outer sections to be of a simple angle section. Have mine been modified?
I am located on the Northern River N.S.W. and assistance from members of the forum will be greatly appeciated. Jim.

Steering wheels can also be refurbed....but I understand it is not cheap

The ones on ebay are late 2a/3 wheels I believe so not the correct one but I think will still fit anyway

No - steering column is different - need to change the box as well.

Hi John I live in Goonellabah not so far from Tregeagle. The SWB Series 2a is at Binna Burra. has been off the road for some time, the brakes are shot, has rusty rear crossmember outriggers(However have located rust free complete crosmember) has rusty front floor but seems complete otherwise. If I go ahead will have to get a quote off Alpine Towing to get it home, Regards Jim
