Ok, as a student, i will never afford one. If i was loaned/given one, i would get it dirty :P
And i would still ditch it before the end of the warranty.

There's a door release button on the top of the rear quarter panel just back from the "B" post. Very discreet, very............BS

I guess if it doesn't look like a brick it can't go off road? Suffice to say if it gets into production chances are it will have best in class off road ability. Another video here Autocar Videos - Autocar.co.uk (http://www.autocar.co.uk/VideosWallpapers/Videos.aspx?AR=231655&CT=V&FLT=34|)

I like it.
Looks better than anything else in its class - I'd rather drive it than any Honda or RAV4thing. (is that the right class).
It still looks like a Land Rover & I'm guessing since they're still proud of their 4wd heritage it will be as damn good offroad as it possibly can be.
If it sells and Land Rover can increase their market surely that will only be good for increasing the number & quality of dealerships.
A Defender it aint, and I'm not sure how I'd feel seeing a girl P plater parking one outside a cafe with no idea about its off road capabilities, but i reckon that's OK. It isn't going to change the image of the Defender I reckon.
I don't know that I'd be too happy if Landrover started bringing out 2wd sedans, but whatever they do in the 4wd market will be the best they can. That's the thing I like about the brand.

...and you know that because?
What's the phrase?? Something about judging a book by its cover... ;)
BTW - You guys obviously missed a post about the LRX that I stuck up a little while ago: LRX Concept (http://lrx.landrover.com)

Well, no. That's just silly talk.

Hmm. Couldn't watch the video. It won't play on my Mac (probably something to do with asp?).
Anyway, I hear the Beamer's pretty good off-road too ;):p

Nope... Something wrong with your Mac. It plays perfectly fine on mine.
FWIW - An interesting vid.

Yes, well it is a concept car. It's amazing that you can actually drive it as most concepts are just there for show. On top of that, the last time LR produced a concept (Range Stormer), that led onto the Range Rover Sport. It'll be interesting to see what comes out of this concept.
Personally, I'd buy one.
As for abilities, well... Let's face it, all the LR products are excellent off-road, some would say "class leading". :D To me, the LRX has the makings of a pretty nimble off-roader.
Only time will tell...

It's a Land Rover - you don't need to sell its capabilities.

I like it, maybe a good second car for the wife that might be a fun drive. Its good to see LR leading the way with some technology and development.I am a passionate ex-defender owner and I love that car but LR cant run a business based on their 60 year herritage and remaining 100% true to their roots....It would be hard to imagine getting dirt on the LRX or even worse inside on that interior.I just hope LR can keep the roots alive and keep making defenders [maybe a bigger/better engine...TDV8?] and if they have to do so by being a bit blingy and techo I am OK with that.

I like it. I would have one as a second car (couldn't afford too though). It looks different to the rest in its class and looks as though it would be reasonable off-road, better approach/departure and rampover than most others that size.

Do you think they deliberately set out to have worse rear vision than a Ford Territory and a Honda CRV or was that an unintended consequence of trying to look different?
I hope it comes standard with a very good rear camera and monitor.

Sorry Cameron_Def, I should have specified that I was comparing 4wd's. It sounds like it will blow my TDV6 away.
Best Wishes,
