Driving along today and all of a sudden the clutch pedal went from normal to engaging half way to the floor, and closer, and closer.
The kids and I were on our way to the shopping centre, so we stopped in and got some more fluid from Kmart, cos there was none in the reservoir.
Now I'm pretty sure I checked it last week and all was fine, and from the sudden loss of pedal I'm thinking it was a catastrophic event, rather than a gradual one, any suggestions?
I replaced the master cylinder February '07, so almost a year and a half ago, which doesn't really say anything to me either way. I haven't noticed the telltale leaks at my feet. The slave cylinder was replaced less than three years ago, more like two.
Could it just be something like the bleed nipple working loose and dumping the fluid? It didn't appear wet or drippy.
As usual, it's always the week after I've lavished attention on the Defender that it decides to play up. I spent last weekend rewiring the headlights. Amazing, now I can actually see headlights on the road in front of me. First in my LR experience.
Oh, and all seems fine after the carpark refill and bleed.
